Introduction

Every day, part of our time is eaten up by time-consuming activities for which we do not really see the added value. These activities have a name: MUDAS (Japanese word meaning waste).

Nobody likes MUDAS

MUDAS are painful. They demotivate employees, tire customers and limit the company's performance. As no one likes to waste their time, there is generally consensus on hunting MUDAS.

The MUDAS hunt takes place in several stages:

  1. The first step is to define the perimeter of the hunt
  2. The second step consists of mobilizing a team of hunters
  3. The hunters begin by flushing out and describing the MUDAS
  4. The MUDAS are then analyzed and sorted to define priorities
  5. Actions are being taken to eliminate them quickly and sustainably
  6. Actions are monitored and their impacts on MUDAS are measured
  7. Hunters celebrate their victories and share their experiences

If you are here, it is because you have been selected to hunt MUDAS and this questionnaire (challenge) constitutes the first step.

Up to you !

Do you have the opportunity to come across MUDAS?

Where do you meet the most voracious MUDAS?

This question is used to map the MUDAS territory.

The classic approach is to use the company's process repository and identify those that are the least effective. It is also possible to use other standards (e.g. geographical areas, functions and professions, market segments, tools and software, etc.) and combine them.

Experience shows that MUDAS love to live in dark and difficult to access places. Complexity and vagueness allow them to hide and thrive.

This is why MUDAS are often found at the interfaces of companies, organizations, processes, tools, etc.

Here is a list of some processes.

Choose the 1 to 3 choices that you think harbor the most voracious MUDAS.

Thank you for the time and seriousness you devoted to this exercise. The analyzes are accessible to all participants and I invite you to go see the MUDAS posted by your colleagues to comment on them and LIKE them.

You will soon be invited to a presentation of the analysis of the results and we will take the opportunity to sort the opportunities and define priorities together. This challenge is only the first step: the best is yet to come ;-)

If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate!
